Parish Meetings

Parish Meetings

All the electors of the Parish meet at least annually to receive reports from community groups and discuss any matters of local importance.

The Annual Parish Meetings are meetings of all registered electors for each parish required by law between 1 March and 1 June. They are not Group Parish Council meetings (although the Chairman of the Council will call the meeting and must preside if present). All electors of the parishes are entitled to attend, speak and vote on any matter, and are welcome to suggest items for the agenda. Other members of the public may also attend. Further Parish Meetings may be convened by the Chairman of the Council, any two councillors or any six electors. A Parish Meeting may make recommendations to the Council, which the Council will then consider.

Due to the Coronoavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, and government advice to avoid public gatherings, the 2020 Annual Parish Meeting is postponed indefinitely. Government guidance on this is awaited.
